I wasn't sure what to expect from Las Vegas - my only ideas of
the city coming from Ocean's Eleven and CSI! But as soon as
we arrived the fun began.
My lasting impression is of how diverse the city is - there
really is something for everybody. Of course there are the
casinos - and a huge number of them! But there are also some
of the very best restaurants to be found, and shopping to rival New
York - everything from the discount malls to top designer
stores. The number of shows you can see is unbelievable - we
caught the original "Mystere" show at TI on the strip, a stunning
performance. And sports fans are well catered for - the new
Mecca of boxing as it's become known, we even bumped into Amir Khan
as he arrived for his fight against Zab Juddah!
If you don't fancy the 24-hour indoor life of Vegas, there's
plenty to do outdoors. The hotels pools are better than any I
have seen in hotels around the world, the Mandalay Bay even has a
full size beach! You could happily come to Vegas for a few
days to chill out all day and party all night in the pool-side
nightclubs. And of course you can't miss a trip to the Grand
Canyon - understandably one of the greatest natural sights in the
world.
After just a 4 day whirlwind trip, I will definitely be going
back for more!
